3rd Annual FOP4Kids School Supply Giveaway

On Saturday, August 3rd, 2024, Will County Sheriff FOP Lodge #94 will hold its 3rd Annual FOP4Kids School Supply Giveaway. The event will be held from 10am-1pm at the Will County Office Building at 302 N Chicago St, Joliet, IL 60432. The supplies will be the most commonly listed supplies from local school supply lists for kids in grades K-8. There will be no registration for this year’s event. School supplies will be given out on a first come, first serve basis.

With the help of our very generous sponsors, our inaugural event allowed us to distribute over 500 bags full of school supplies for local Will County children and over 750 in our second year! We hope to continue and expand the event to provide an even better experience for those in attendance this year.

ILFOP Recruitment Event

The Illinois Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) State Lodge is hosting a recruitment fair for prospective law enforcement and corrections officers on Wednesday, October 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the main campus of Joliet Junior College, 1215 Houbolt Road in Joliet. Numerous local, county, state, federal and college law enforcement and criminal justice agencies will be available to speak to anyone who is interested in a career in law enforcement. The recruitment fair is free and open to the public.

“Departments nationwide are experiencing staffing shortages and are having trouble finding enough potential employees, so now is the time to seek a career in law enforcement,” said Illinois FOP State Lodge President Chris Southwood. “You can make a difference in the lives of your fellow citizens and receive good pay and benefits at the same time. It’s a challenging but rewarding career.” The October 11 recruitment fair is geared toward anyone who is interested in becoming a law enforcement, corrections, emergency telecommunications, parole or probation officer.

The Fraternal Order of Police, founded in 1915, is the largest organization of sworn law enforcement officers in the United States. With a proud tradition of officers representing officers, the FOP is the most respected and most recognized police organization in the country. The Illinois FOP, chartered in 1963, is the second largest State Lodge, proudly representing more than 34,000 active duty and retired police officers – more than 10 percent of all FOP members nationwide.

24th Annual Shop with a Sheriff

For over 20 years, Lodge #94 has partnered with MorningStar Mission in Joliet for our Shop with a Sheriff event. Each year, this partnership allows our members to team up with local children and help them shop for their families during the holiday season at no cost to the children or their families. All children like to have gifts to give their family members during the holidays. Our goal with this event is that by being there to help them shop, we can hopefully reduce some of the stresses that go along with this so that they can focus on being children and enjoy the season with their families.

Any Lodge #94 members wishing to volunteer, please contact Lodge Secretary Deputy E. Vasick.
