Life Saving Awards Presented

This morning, Lodge #94 Vice President Collyn McIlvain and Secretary Erin Vascik presented Will County Sheriff's Office Deputies Harley Kessler, Nicholas Kovar, Kennedy Collins, and Elijah Lujano each with the Illinois State Fraternal Order of Police Life Saving Award on behalf of the Illinois Fraternal Order of Police State Lodge.

On September 2, 2025, the Will County Sheriff's Office dispatched Deputies Harley Graham, Nicholas Kovar, Kennedy Collins and Elijah Lujano to a call reporting that two people had been shot. The deputies discovered a man and a woman with gunshot wounds inside a vehicle and immediately began to administer first aid to the victims. Crete Fire Department personnel arrived on the scene and transported both victims to area hospitals. The male victim died from his injuries, but the pregnant female victim and her unborn child survived. The deputies' quick actions arriving at the scene are credited for saving the woman's life.

Congratulations, deputies, and thank you for continuing to represent the Sheriff’s Office with pride and dedication!
