#1744 Never Forgotten

On December 16th, 2020, the Will County Sheriff's Office lost a friend and brother, Deputy C/O Michael Olino, #1744. Michael was a 17-year veteran of the Sheriff's Office.

Mike was on duty at the Will County ADF when he began having back pains. Those around him noticed his discomfort and offered their assistance. As they recognized his symptoms beginning to worsen the fire department was requested. Joliet Fire Department transported Deputy Olino to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Joliet where he was pronounced deceased shortly after his arrival. Mike began his career at the Will County Adult Detention Facility on December 29th, 2003, three years after serving in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Not a day went by that Mike didn't proudly talk about his family and the events and activities that they were involved in. They were the love of his life. At work, Mike was the first to crack a joke to get his co-workers laughing to help keep the pressures of the job from becoming overwhelming. At the same time, he was the first one to go and check on his co-workers after an incident to make sure they were okay. Mike will always be remembered for his love of his family, his quick wit, and his dedication to his career and his co-workers.

Please continue to keep Deputy Olino's family, friends, and co-workers in your thoughts today and every day.
